You can work with me on preparation, the live raise or both. You work directly with me, with an agreed scope, review cadence and clear responsibilities.

What working together looks like

A typical six-week preparation engagement.

  1. 01 Before we start

    Review and scope

I review your current materials and fundraising goals so we can agree the priorities, deliverables and responsibilities.

  2. 02 Weeks 1-2

    Define the investment case

We clarify why an investor should back the business, what the capital will achieve and which assumptions need testing.

  3. 03 Weeks 3-4

    Build and pressure-test

I work through the materials with you, checking consistency and challenging the case with the questions investors are likely to ask.

  4. 04 Weeks 5-6

    Prepare the approach

We prioritise suitable investors, plan the outreach sequence and rehearse the conversations ahead.

The sequence adapts to your starting point and the agreed scope. Support through the live raise is covered separately by Live Fundraise Support.

The thinking behind the work

“Too early” doesn’t tell you what to fix.

Illustrative example

“Really enjoyed the conversation. It's a little early for us, but do keep us posted.”

Sometimes it means exactly that. Either way, a polite pass can leave you with little you can act on.

Here's what I would investigate

  • The evidence. What did this investor need to see that you couldn't yet demonstrate?
  • The investment case. Could they explain to their partners why this business was worth backing?
  • The investor fit. Was this the right fund for your stage, market and round in the first place?

Each calls for a different response: build more evidence, strengthen the case or change whom you approach. I spent five years on the other side of those emails. I'll tell you where your investment case falls short, what needs more evidence and what I'd change before you pitch again.

Your next step

Let's look at your raise.

A 30-minute conversation about where you stand, what you're trying to achieve and whether I'm the right person to help.
